Thai people are passionate about food. Great arguments may erupt over the best way to make Drunken Noodles! And so the subject of food plays a very important part in Thai culture. One common Thai greeting, which is a little too complicated to explain, basically means: “Have you eaten today?” People celebrate with friends and family and food and fun and laughter — and more food!
We celebrate the food we eat in many food festivals throughout Thailand during the year, depending on the season or the Buddhist event we are commemorating. Seafood is celebrated mainly in the coastal areas of the South of Thailand but also throughout the islands in the Gulf of Thailand. But it is also enjoyed everywhere that people can find it.
Our class on Saturday, August 13, starting at 2:30 p.m., features many of my all-time favourite seafood dishes but also includes a couple of surprises!
I hope you can make it!
