Anyone who has followed this newsletter for some time knows that the Drunken Noodles are a pretty rambunctious bunch. This is probably understandable, given their name.

However, one thing about them is that they can really shine when they are dressed up nicely and arranged tastefully on a plate. And “tastefully” is probably the best word to describe them, if you have actually tried them for yourself. Or maybe “delicious,” “scrumptious,” or “unforgettable,” are better words.

The other thing about them is that they have great friends and know how to share the limelight with their pals. Just check out the other dishes on this page, if you don’t believe me. One final point is that the Drunken Noodles Party class is now our second most popular class, after Thai Classic Favourites.

These Golden Prawn Nuggets make a great appetizer for just about any meal!

You start with Tiger Prawns and scramble them in a food processor along with crispy fried garlic, Red Curry paste, soy sauce, lime leaves, and other ingredients to make a delicious batter. After that, you deep fry the battered prawns until they turn a golden brown. Finally, you serve them with a tasty dipping sauce. Your friends and family will love you, so long as you don’t grab them all for yourself!

Despite a deceptive simplicity to this dish, the flavours are more complex than you might think, thanks to a dipping sauce which is a combination of ginger, chili, cilantro, soy bean paste, sugar, rice vinegar and chicken broth.

Quality beef is the key to this dish, backed up with spices and chillies

The most important ingredient in this dish is the beef. Do try to obtain the best quality beef you can for the best results. After that, you can’t go too far wrong. In a wok simmering with hot oil, add garlic, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, chopped fresh chili and chicken broth. And then add beans and pepper. Finally, add holy basil. Transfer to a platter for serving. Garnish with cilantro. You will never forget this dish!

Poor old vegetables! They always take a back seat to the exciting headliners in our classes. But let’s face it, just like your Mom always said, “Vegetables are good for you!” And we can assure you that these vegetables are not only that, but also surprisingly tasty, cooked with oyster sauce, garlic and red chillies.

Not much to say about this simple dessert except that it is a fantastic end to a great meal!

Update for Summer Public Class Schedule 

We’ve had to make some changes to our summer schedule, mainly because Ginger Beef & Friends has become one of our most popular classes.
