Samui Island is truly a Golden Experience!
Hi Everybody,
My husband, Ry, and I visited Samui Island many years ago, when we were a lot younger. The island is down south, floating on the Gulf of Thailand, surrounded by a beautiful turquoise sea.
On Koh Samui
(the Thai name), we found a nice ocean-side hut from where we enjoyed snorkelling during the day and swimming together, later, in the soft moonlight — and we’re NOT telling what we were wearing, or NOT wearing!
We visited the Big Buddha, at Wat Phra Yai temple, with its 12-meter Buddha statue. We shopped for souvenirs and trinkets on walks through the old fishing village of
MaeNam, which even today apparently looks much like the good old days.
But most of all, we relaxed, enjoying a wonderful break from the ordinary world back home. And that included sampling the delicious dishes of southern Thailand from ocean-side street vendors and dining at the little restaurants we discovered along beach-side. We came up with some great plans for Kallayanee’s Kitchen at many of those dinners — and those plans included the dishes you will
enjoy at this class, which we discovered on the island..
My class, "Samui Island Festival" is dedicated to all the wonderful tastes and flavors we discovered on Samui Island and to those who come to my class to enjoy Koh Samui Island from far, far away.
