One of the best holidays I ever enjoyed in Thailand included a wonderful lunch in the province of Udon Thani with some friends of ours, who happened to be Thai Forest Dhamma Buddhist monks.
Monks have to live by very special rules, which limit when they can eat and what
they can eat. But on this day, in a forest clearing, we were able to share with them a delicious, prepared banquet of Thai barbecued chicken, papaya salad and sticky rice.
My husband, Ry, loved all of the dishes and, to this day, Lesson Six is still by far his favourite class, especially since there are two other bonus dishes included in the class. And, in honour of our Monk friends, we named the class after that very special day.
