Hi everybody,
I am back from Thailand, after nearly two months of travel, re-connecting with friends and family, and exploring more delicious Thai dishes to add to my cooking classes!
It was a wonderful trip but I am very excited to be home again
and starting up a brand-new season of Kallayanee’s Kitchen.
I would like to thank my good friends Judy and Trevor for helping to maintain Kallayanee’ Kitchen while I was gone. They managed phone calls and messages while we were away and so helped my husband and I to enjoy a real holiday, with a little break from the business. I would also like to thank Martine, at the Panorama Recreation Centre, for also helping to take care of Kallayanee's Kitchen during our
absence.
Tonight, I kick off the season with my most popular class,
Lesson One, Thai Classic Favourites. I’m so pleased that the class was fully
booked in my absence. But I'm sorry that more people can't come tonight!
So, If you would like to attend Lesson One, you should book now, in advance, as my other two overflow dates for this class in March are already fully booked. Places are still available — but going fast — for Saturday, April 8, and Saturday, April 22. Both classes start at 2:30 p.m.
Here's what's on the menu:
Money Bags
Spicy hot tofu appetizers.
Corn Salad
Fresh cooked corn kernels are tossed with tomatoes in a delicious lime juice-based sauce.
Clay Pot Vegetables and Noodles
Tofu,
vermicelli noodles and vegetables are simmered in a traditional Thai brown sauce.
Chiang Mai Curried Noodles
Tofu, rice noodles, carrots, cilantro, and bean sprouts in a special curry from northern Thailand.
Spinach with Tofu
Spinach seared lightly in a wok and topped with fried tofu smothered in peanut
sauce.
As always, cost is only $55 per student, plus GST.
Classes tend to fill up early, so book now to avoid disappointment by calling us at 250-656-1227 or directly online through the Panorama Recreation Centre.
Hope to see you soon!
Kallayanee
P.S. If you decide to come, make sure to eat a SMALL lunch!
