Tastes from the South of Thailand
You won’t want to miss my next class, on Tuesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m.

That’s because it features my famous Beef Salad with Grapes, made with top-quality sirloin steak, grapes, lemongrass, lime leaves, mint, and chillies, a delicious — and very spicy — combination of flavours! Of all the dishes that I’ve sampled from Thailand’s Southern provinces it’s one of my all-time favourites.
This is my famous Beef Salad with Grapes. Click on the image to see other class photos.
Many Canadians think there is only one Thai Food, that everyone in Thailand eats just about the same thing that everyone in this country calls “Thai Food.”

Not so! Beef dishes are pretty rare in most parts of Thailand — except in the South, where beef is quite popular. The other major regional difference in southern Thai dishes is the HEAT. They eat much hotter curries and spices in the south, with many more varieties. And I love the differences!

But there’s lots more on Tuesday’s menu from the South of Thailand!

Thai Won Ton
Tasty snacking is guaranteed with this spicy combination of pork and a ginger dipping sauce.

Thai Traditional Rice Soup
Oyster mushrooms and cilantro are the secret ingredients in this delicious Thai comfort food.

Chicken Massaman
Chicken thighs simmered in coconut milk and special Massaman curry make this dish irresistible.

Eggplant Salad
Red onions, lemon juice, pork and eggplant beautifully complement the eggplants in this delightful dish.

As always, cost is only $55 per student, plus GST.
