New Fall Season opens next Tuesday!
|
Hi Everybody,
I had a wonderful summer this year with some great surprises.
For the first time, I took Kallayanee’s Kitchen to Saltspring Island where my kind friends Noni and Blair hosted me at their Homestead in the Vale farm in the Long Harbour area.
I taught Lesson One, Thai Classic Favourites, and Lesson Two, Sweet & Sour Spareribs and Chicken Satay Banquet to two very enthusiastic, packed classes of Islanders on Saturday and Sunday at the end of August.
I loved meeting so
many good people, made many new friends, and hope to visit Saltspring again in the not-too-distant future.
Speaking of Lesson One, I shall be hosting another class next Tuesday, September 12, but I’m afraid it’s all sold out. A Lesson One class on Saturday, September 23, is also sold out.
However, there are still spaces available for two more
Lesson One overflow classes in October. There’s one on Saturday, October 14, and another on Saturday, October 28. Both classes start at 2:30 p.m. If you’d like to attend either one of these classes I highly recommend that you book your places ASAP as both classes are already filling quickly.
If you LOVE vegetarian food as much as I do, you’re lucky! That’s because there are still places available for my Vegetarian
One class, Spicy Money Bags Potpourri, on Tuesday, September 13, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Here’s what’s on the
menu:
Money Bags Spicy hot tofu appetizers flavoured with chili.
Corn Salad Fresh cooked, locally-harvested corn kernels tossed with tomatoes in a delicious lime juice-based sauce.
Chiang Mai Curried Noodles Tofu, rice noodles, carrots, cilantro, and bean sprouts in a special curry from northern Thailand.
Clay Pot Vegetables and Noodles Tofu, vermicelli noodles and vegetables are simmered in a traditional Thai brown sauce.
Spinach with Tofu Spinach seared lightly in a wok and topped with fried tofu smothered in peanut sauce.
And, of course, as always, these delicious dishes will be followed by one of my surprise Thai
desserts!
I’m looking forward very much to a new Fall season of Kallayanee’s Kitchen and hope to see you soon at one of my classes.
Sincerely, Kallayanee
