Tastes from the South of Thailand

Next Tuesday, May 1, I’ll take everyone on a foodie’s tour of Thailand’s south, with a delicious array of dishes chosen from that region’s unique selection of flavours.

Food in the south tends to be spicier than in the central and northern regions, but I’ll make sure it’s not too hot for Canadian taste buds. That is, unless you want it HOT and we can certainly make that happen!

Here’s what’s on the menu:

Thai Traditional Rice Soup
Oyster mushrooms and cilantro are the secret ingredients in this delicious Thai comfort food.

Thai Won Ton
Tasty snacking is guaranteed with this spicy combination of pork and a ginger dipping sauce.

Beef Salad with Grapes

This is the feature dish, with top quality sirloin steak combined with lemongrass, lime leaves, mint, and chillies, for a delicious combination of flavours.

Chicken Massaman
Chicken thighs simmered in coconut milk and special Massaman curry make this dish irresistible.

Eggplant Salad
Red onions, lemon juice and pork beautifully complement the eggplants in this delightful dish.

As always, this class is held in our beautiful rural home in North Saanich. Cost is only $55 per student, plus GST, for a total of $57.75. The class starts at 6:30 p.m.
