Thai Barbecue Lamb Supreme on next Saturday
|
Hi everybody,
Next Saturday, June 9, I will be hosting another Premium class, our new “Thai Barbecue Lamb Supreme,” lesson.
This is a “can’t miss” class, as I shall be using local lamb to prepare a very different Thai menu, based on recipes from Thailand’s southern
region. The tastes and flavours are very subtle but unmistakably Thai. The lamb is accompanied by a gently spiced fresh mango salsa.
Local lamb is first marinated with authentic Thai spices and then barbecued.
We tested this feature lamb dish on one of our British friends, who found it an amazing and wonderful change from the traditional lamb dish served in England.
He loved the fresh mango salsa, so different from mint sauce, which invariably accompanies lamb in Britain. He also loved the delicate but very subtle flavours of the sauce I used to marinate the lamb overnight.
“I’m not sure I could ever go back to
over-cooked lamb and mint sauce again!” he said at the end of the meal.
Also on the menu is another take on a lamb dish, with my hot and spicy "Southern Lamb Curry." But these dishes are only two of the items on a varied and exciting menu. Here’s what's in store for you on Saturday, June 9, at 2:30 p.m.!
Hoi Jaw Tod This is a little known but delicious Thai "Wrap Dish," an appetizer with ground chicken and pork stuffing inside Thai rice wraps.
Chicken Wings with Cilantro and Pepper Dipping Sauce These tenderly-baked chicken wings are delicious when dipped in the special dipping sauce.
Thai Barbecue Lamb Supreme Marinated in delicate Thai herbs and spices, the lamb is barbecued and served with chicken wings and fresh mango salsa, a refreshing change from
English-style lamb.
Thai Fruit Salad Shredded papaya, mangoes, cantaloupes, apples, chillies and carrots highlight this delicious summer
salad.
Southern Lamb Curry A hot and spicy curry dish simmered in special Thai herbs and spices with potatoes.
Agar Fruit Dessert A cool, refreshing jelly dessert based on natural gelatin found in seaweed. An Asian favourite!
This class is sure to be popular so I recommend that you book early to ensure your place at the table!

Sincerely, Kallayanee
