We are now OPEN AGAIN for Private Classes!
|
Marion Hutchinson organized a group of her friends for a private class back in February.
Hi everybody,
We hope you are all well and keeping happy, despite the pandemic. But there does seem to be good news as the number of cases drops in British Columbia and the province carefully opens up. Sidney seems busy again, with lots of people shopping and enjoying themselves.
So, we’re back in business again. Hopefully. And tentatively.
We made the decision after receiving a request from a very nice man who said he wanted to celebrate his wife’s 60th birthday tomorrow, this Saturday. We just couldn’t say no. And so, this will be our first private class since about the middle of March.
We’ve missed all of you and we are very happy to be open again! Of course, we will be taking a little extra care because that nasty virus has not completely gone away yet. So, we will only host a maximum of eight people per class because we have two large tables that can seat four people each, with lots of social distancing.
Also, if necessary, I may teach in shifts of four people each, again to ensure social distancing. So, it will be up to you if you feel that the time has come to venture out again and enjoy a fun class of Thai cooking and enjoyment.
Couple Seeks Partners for Private Class
|
We were also influenced in our decision to open when we received a message from another nice man who wanted to redeem a gift certificate for two, for he and his wife. I explained that we had no public classes coming up until possibly Fall (as I explain later in this newsletter).
And he was very sad because he will be leaving this area in September and will never be able to redeem his certificate unless he is able book a private class.
So, I promised to ask all of you if there were at least four people who would join with this couple to make up our minimum numbers for a private class. If you would like to participate, please reply to this newsletter and I’ll try to help organize a very special private class.
Sauces and Condiments available July 1st
|
I also hope to make two other students happy who wrote me recently, in desperation, because they had run out of their supply of Chilli Garlic Sauce. Now, I can assure them — and you — that I will be making more of this and other condiments starting July 1. You will still need to contact me to order yours,
though, so I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
More Kallayanee's Kitchen Videos Coming Soon
|
I hope you have been able to view the two new YouTube videos that my husband, Ry, published during the past few weeks. If not, please check them out by clicking on the links below:
Please do LIKE them, SUBSCRIBE to our channel and SHARE with friends and family.
Ry hopes to produce more videos in future, hopefully once a week. The first series of videos, “Kallayanee’s Thailand, Travels in the Golden Kingdom,” will introduce you to selected scenes from Thailand, like those in the links above.
The second series of videos is tentatively titled, “Kallayanee’s Kwickery, Thai on the Fly Eats.” The idea for this series was suggested by Kim Say, our Panorama Recreation Centre Coordinator. We hope to produce videos showing how you can cook delicious Thai meals in only a few minutes — when you don’t have time to cook the feasts we offer at Kallayanee’s Kitchen.
Watch out for them!
Fall Cooking Season Tentatively Scheduled
|
We have actually set dates for a Fall public class season but we cannot promise those dates will be open — yet. We’ll keep you posted on our plans as we move forward.
That’s about it for today. Keep healthy, keep happy and stay tuned for more news from us in future.
I hope to see you soon!
Kallayanee
